What are the Host Responsibilities?
As a valued host, your role comes with certain responsibilities that help ensure a pleasant experience for your guests. Here’s how you can make the most of your hosting experience.
Bookings Guidelines:
Your role and responsibilities:
You are not just hosting a property; you’re providing an experience. The booking contract is between the host and the guest, with Holidu as an intermediary.
It is important to ensure that you, or a designated person, are available during your guests’ stay, either directly or through the mediation of a person in charge.
Smooth Arrival Communications:
For a more personalized experience, communicate early with your guests regarding the arrival expectations (estimated arrival time, how to collect keys, house rules).
Be There for Your Guests:
Always be ready to assist during your guests' stay. If issues related to the property arises, please make sure to respond promptly to make their stay stress-free.
Avoid Host Cancellations:
Cancellations can disrupt plans for both hosts and guests. This can have an impact on your property’s performance and lead to potential penalties. Aim to avoid cancellations whenever possible.
Providing Receipts:
If requested, please provide your guests with a receipt showing the total amount they have paid.
*
Please note: Holidu only provides the guests with a booking confirmation. Your invoice (provided by Holidu) is an individual fiscal document that should NOT be shared with guests.
Account Configuration Guidelines:
Your Control & Responsibility:
The final responsibility for the accuracy of the configuration belongs to you, the host. We are always happy to assist you, providing guidance and help, but please bear in mind that Holidu is not responsible for updating
your property’s information and settings. If you request our help with an update, and we make changes to the advertisement for you, these must subsequently be checked by you and any errors must be communicated.
Updating Account Settings:
Everything that is configurable in your account can be easily and quickly updated by you. The only sections that are not directly modifiable by you are the description text and the photo gallery: to request updates regarding
these,
contact us.
Calendar Management:
It is very important your calendar is up-to-date to avoid overbooking.
Whenever your property is unavailable, be it for renovations, maintenance, private bookings, please make sure to block the corresponding dates immediately to avoid overbookings.
Modifying Property Details:
In case you modify amenities, sleeping arrangements, or other configurable settings, you need to send us a prompt request to update the description text.
Furthermore, you are responsible to inform us whenever it is necessary to delete pictures that do not accurately represent what is available at your property. To do this, please,
contact us
.
Please, bear in mind that whenever any critical information is changed in your configuration (e.g. pool or Wi-Fi no longer available, bedrooms configuration, etc), it is your responsibility to inform future guests who
already have a booking that may be affected by the change (we only assist in very urgent cases, e.g. when the check-in date is extremely close by).
Keeping Rates Updated:
Regularly update your nightly rate, minimum stay, and extra fees in a timely manner for future seasons. Guests love to plan holidays in advance!
Important: Please, remember that once a reservation is confirmed, it will not be possible to change the booking price.
We hope you find this guide helpful and straightforward. Thank you for being a valued host
