Why did the guest cancel the booking?
Guests may cancel their booking based on the cancellation policy set for your property. If you don’t know which Cancellation Policy is configured for your property, you can check by accessing your account and following these steps:
- Select “Configuration” on the top left side.
- Scroll down to “Cancellation policies” and select this option
- You can select different cancellation policies:
- The main one (for Holidu and channels, such as Holidu, VRBO, your website and Google VR),
- For Airbnb
- For Booking.com
Each cancellation policy has its own rules regarding refunds and timelines. The details will show up by clicking “Edit”.
Guests are informed of the cancellation policy in advance, but there may be occasions where they have a valid reason to request an exception. If this happens, we will reach out to you. It will be of course entirely your decision whether you approve or decline the guest request.
In some cases, guests cancel without providing a reason. Regardless of the circumstances, you will always receive an email notification whenever a booking is cancelled.
Remember that when a guest cancels a booking, that period in your calendar will become available again for you to receive a new booking.
