What Are the Fees and Consequences for Cancelling a Booking.com reservation?
Cancelling a confirmed reservation on Booking.com may result in fees, relocation costs for guests, and a lower search ranking for your listing. Before proceeding with a cancellation, it’s important to understand how Holidu’s contractual penalty fee applies and what additional consequences may arise.
Cancellation Fees Based on Timing
According to your Holidu Host Agreement, cancellation fees depend on the time between booking confirmation and when you submit your written cancellation request to our customer service team.
Holidu’s contractual penalty fee takes precedence. Any additional cancellation fees imposed by Booking.com will only apply if they exceed Holidu’s contractual fee.
Holidu Cancellation Fees
- Within 24 hours of booking → Minimum fee of €50.
- Up to 7 days from booking → 10% of the net payout (minimum €50).
- 8 to 15 days from booking → 20% of the net payout (minimum €50).
- After 15 days from booking → 30% of the net payout (minimum €50).
Additional Relocation Costs
- If the cancellation fee does not fully cover the cost of relocating the guest, you will be responsible for the remaining amount.
- Booking.com will determine the final relocation cost after the guest's check-out date, and this amount will be passed on to you.
Other Consequences of Cancelling a Booking.com Reservation
Cancelling a reservation on Booking.com not only results in fees but can also impact your listing’s visibility and performance:
- Lower Search Ranking → Your listing may appear lower in search results, making it harder to attract future bookings.
- Potential Impact on Your Listing's Performance → Frequent cancellations can result in fewer bookings and reduced visibility on Booking.com.
